![]() There are heroes that can play as supports, carries or nukers.Īnd all of these were viable without throwing the game away. ![]() Our friend group had our quickest ever win in 11 minutes when we all went Kong level 1.Ģ mid was an viable option, no jungle is viable, 3 in carry lane is viable, enemy jungle was viable at times, standard 2/1/2 was viable. The classic 'mid or feed' made its appearance in games regularly.īut I guess my point was that with a team of non trolls the variety felt far more versatile and was able to work well if implemented properly. Makes complete sense around the first part, HoN certainly was known for a bunch of trolls losing games cause they decided they wanted mid along with the other guys who want mid. They have both survived the dark ages of Moba games, so they do have merit to them and don't suck as much as you think they do. We all know you don't like it right now, but I think that with enough time, you'll grow to love them. The game has been a part of my life for a good 10 years, having played it a lot since closed beta, having been a part of the Senior RCT team, having been a moderator on the forums and all, but I think it deserves to be put to rest finally. I agree that it's sad that HoN is shutting down. But the reason why champions are more flexible is probably just because the character kit designs are fundamentally different in both games, since HoN scales utility more than damage numbers as late-game approaches. She sucks at jungle and support, but there are so many characters that you can put into most roles of the game, and I dare to say there is more flexibility here than HoN ever managed, which is a surefire way to get downvotes in any HoN forum. But people ran her as a top laner since she does well solo. Quinn was originally a ranged carry that fit the bill of what a ranged carry does. Many champions can also go wherever they want to go. If fighting over positions in online games is your forbidden pleasure, then I guess you won't be getting that out of games like that though. There is no fighting or headaches involved, and if you're a pre-made of 3 or 5, you can still decide to just send 2 people top if you want to. ![]() The League client asks you "where do you want to go?", you pick where you want to go, and you just go there. Two people mad at each other going mid is a guaranteed loss out of your control. We've all had countless amounts of HoN games where some idiot decides he is going to that specific lane no matter what, and when two of those are on your team, you pretty much instantly lose because they don't care about your team setup. They focus on a specific setup of lanes due to the fact that it normalizes games. A gigantic thank you to all the staff and players that made HoN what it is! Much love to you all! HoN best moba! I have a thousand great memories about this game and as stupid as it sounds - it is, after all, just a videogame - it truly means a lot to me because I associate it with that time of my life that is now behind me. I trolled some games building three Doombringers on Scout and refusing to touch enemy towers, trying to see just how many kills I could get without dying. I laughed like a maniac at some of the videos some talented people have put out I used to follow the competitive scene and get pumped up hearing Breaky scream "THE TEMPEST ULTIMAAAATE!!!". I played HoN on a Christmas day, the first of many Christmases I spent without my family since I was away for work. Dude :( I started playing HoN when I was at my lowest in life, it was my way to escape from a lot of things, I logged a crapton of hours on it and I have some of the best memories of playing throughout the night in the kitchen with my old roommate.
